Multi-tools are all the rage lately. It's likely because every tool company is looking for a way to break through the clutter and create a truly unique and useful tool that will find its way into every tool pouch in America. Swanson's latest entry into the niche is their Savage Folding Jab Saw and Utility Knife Combo.

I like the quality and feel of the tool. The handle is just right for large hands and has a comfortable grip.

The tool will accept any recip saw blade, and changing them out is pretty simple and quick. It comes with everything you see in the photo - tool, keyhole saw blade, 2 recip saw blades and the utility knife blade. They all fit nice and neatly in the included soft pouch.

 

We sent the tool out with remodeling contractor Dana Wilkerson to see if he can break it :) As soon as his report is in, we'll let you know. Until then, kudos to Swanson for coming up with this combo - it was even named Popular Mechanics' Editor's Choice at this year's National Hardware Show.
