TOWSON, MD (March 10, 2014) – PORTER-CABLE announces today the new cordless 8V MAX* Impact Screwdriver for the tradesman. With the 8V MAX* Impact Screwdriver, tradesmen no longer need to carry around the bulk of an over-powered drill. For smaller fastening applications, this new impact screwdriver is all they need. The tool is 6.48 inches long and weighs 1.42 pounds, allowing the tradesman to easily maneuver the tool and complete applications quickly.  In addition, the impact mechanism and motor deliver 0-2,200 RPM and 125 in-lbs of non-reactionary torque**

Other features of the 8V MAX* Impact Screwdriver include a quick-load chuck that allows for one-handed bit loading and release, an LED light that illuminates the work area, and a ¼ inch hex chuck that accepts standard bits. The impact screwdriver also incorporates magnetic bit tip holders which are located on the top of the screwdriver for easy access. Finally, an indicator light displays the charge of the 8V MAX* lithium-ion battery. Maximizing a lithium ion battery platform that can maintain a charge for up to 18 months, the 8V MAX* Impact Screwdriver’s on-board battery is plugged directly into a wall jack for optimal convenience and portability.
