Is there anything robots can't do these days? It's a little scary when you think about it. I mean, sure, they're fun to watch as they tackle our mundane household and work chores, but what happens when the power goes out? We're all gonna have to re-learn our basic survival skills. It's like getting too dependent on a GPS - pretty soon you can't go anywhere without asking Siri. That argument aside, this is the coolest robot I've seen in awhile - and it handles one of the most dangerous and nasty jobs on the planet - gutter cleaning.
iRobot's booth at CES this year was crammed full of the usual floor-roaming bots doing their best to keep the place neat and tidy, but there was this little guy - he really caught our eye. The Looj 330 Gutter Cleaning Robot is an amazing little device that may really be the safest way we've seen to clean gutters.
