Grime Boss Hand Wipes - Product Review

I got a sample of the Grime Boss Hand Wipes at the Hardware Show this year in Vegas. That was in May, and just today I got a chance to put it to the test. Honestly, I forgot I had it - it was stuck in a pile of brochures.

The Challenge:

My 1992 Toyota 4x4 needed a little TLC under the hood. You can't blame her, as she recently turned over 300k. Yes, this was just a cheap excuse to include a picture of my beloved truck in a review. Mea culpa. Seriously, though - ain't she perty?

Anyway, after the under-hood surgery, I decided to put the Grime Boss wipe to the test. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't stink like cheap perfume, as some wipes have a tendency to. The scent was pleasant but not overpowering. Secondly, the sample size is HUGE. I mean, I have big paws, and this wipe was bigger! When size mattered, it came through.

The Result:

Unfortunately, I didn't get a shot of my greasy mitts before I opened the package. Since I was the only one around, I wasn't about to dirty up my iPhone for that. Call me a sissy, but I've dropped a couple of phones already and greasy fingers seemed like a recipe for disaster.

However, once I opened and used the wipe, you can see that the grease is pretty much gone. Sure, there's a little in the cracks and crevices, but I was more than pleased with the clean-up that Grime Boss delivered.

According to the company, it's the combination of texture and cleaning agents that do the trick. Here's a good close look at that texture:

It seems to work, whatever the reason. And the part I liked best was that I didn't feel like I had to wash my hands after using it. A simple napkin (always an ample supply in the glove box - I have an 11 year old) was all I needed to get my hands to the point that they didn't feel slick.

Bottom line - I was impressed and will probably actually BUY some of these! If you do any automotive tinkering, repair, or just have a tendency to find greasy projects, I'd recommend a box of these - they work.
