PRS2100 Precision Benchtop Router Table

We got a First Look at several new tools and accessories at the Kreg Tool booth this year, and one of the coolest things we saw was their new PRS2100 Precision Benchtop Router Table. According to Dave Stone, Kreg's spokesperson, the PRS2100 has features you'd normally find only on a larger, stationary model.

PRS2100 Features

Kreg's system of changing out reducer plates looks simple, convenient and quick.The PRS2100 comes with 3 reducer plates standard, and you can buy additional plates in sets of 5.The fence also has a couple of noteworthy points. First, small rods can be inserted into the fence brackets that push the face of the fence toward the bit, creating a jointer-like tool. For shops short on space, this is a really handy idea.Kreg also introduced cam-lock levers instead of knobs to secure the fence in place. This helps prevent the fence from creeping when you're turning the knobs.

A lot of people were curious as to the open-base design of the table. According to Stone, and very surprisingly, the open-base design tested quieter than an enclosed-base. The design still allows for a full-size router to be used, however, making this a truly convenient router table that can be used in the shop or on the jobsite.
