Klein RT600 GFCI Tester Review

If you're reading this review, you most likely understand the importance of using a quality electrical tester, especially when it comes to testing GFCI outlets. Klein has one of the best reputations out there in this category, and the RT600 is no exception.

If you're a DIYer looking for a quality tester, you'll come to understand very quickly,  the tradition of the Klein name after using tools like this one.

RT600 Design & Performance

This GFCI tester feels solidly constructed. We had no trouble testing even the heavy-duty outlets in the shop, which - by design -  grab onto plugs a lot more firmly. The unit never felt flimsy, even when I tried to pry the body halves apart. I've been able to separate some of the cheaper models with little effort.

The contoured design of tester sides make it easy to grip the unit without slippage, in those aforementioned clingy outlets, as well.

The LED lights are bright enough to see even in low light, and the GFCI button feels smooth in operation. It comes in most handy for those outlets protected on a GFCI circuit.

Klein RT600 Opinion

The unit is pricier than other models, but if you're a Klein fan, you understand that you're paying for quality and reputation. I'm not going to attempt to persuade anyone who is a fan of other brands to jump ship, but I will say that this is a solidly-built piece of test equipment. It houses Klein's history of making products that work, in an trade where tools MUST work - lives depend on it.

I've always been a fan of the Klein tools I've used. The fact that they're manufactured in the United States (of U.S. and imported parts) is a big plus, for obvious reasons. I don't think you'll won't be disappointed in the design or performance of the RT600.
