Bosch Industrial Sealant Knife Offers Combination of Durability and Speed for Removal of Tough Caulk

Best materials and advanced design make this multi-tool blade faster and more versatile than comparable hand tools

Mount Prospect, Ill., February 18, 2014 - Caulk and sealant removal in tough masonry and industrial applications can be a difficult and time-consuming job. The Bosch Industrial Sealant Knife is designed to speed those demanding projects by using the versatility and power of the multi-tool for what has traditionally been a hand-tool task.

Bosch Industrial Sealant Knife

The industrial sealant knife uses a one-piece design and industrial-grade steel honed to a continuous cutting edge for maximum precision. This material and design combination gives the blade greater durability, even in harsh silicone and urethane removal jobs. The extra-thick blade design increases rigidity; blade can be resharpened for even longer life.

"The Bosch Industrial Sealant Knife is designed for the worker who needs to remove caulk and sealants quickly, but precisely," said Luca Pugina, group product manager for oscillating tool blades, Bosch-North America, accessories.  "We have engineered this blade from the perspective of the user, thinking about their requirements and the nature of their job.  So the one-piece design, the greater blade length, the sharpness of the blade edge and the best-fit OIS interface work together to deliver a superior sealant-removal tool versus hand tools."

The Bosch Industrial Sealant Knife provides a longer blade surface (3-in. versus 2-in. for a conventional multi-tool blade) to maximize the cutting power of the blade.  The sharpness of the blade and the additional cutting length means the user is cutting material with each movement of the blade.  And less wasted motion means a faster job.

But precision is not sacrificed with the industrial sealant knife.  The blade can be used to plunge into the work area from varied angles and remove material with accuracy.  Additionally, the design allows easier access to tight spaces and corners.

And the blade relies not only on sharpness, but the strong blade/tool connection provided by the industry-leading Bosch OIS interface system.  The twelve-pin design locks the blade into place securely for maximum power transmission and torque.  The Bosch design also accommodates most professional multi-tool interfaces.

In addition, Bosch offers the Industrial Sealant Knife with an OIS Max interface for maximum power and fit.  OIS Max is a direct fit for the Fein® SuperCUT tool.
